Abstract
CRISPR/Cas is one of the ground-breaking discoveries in the biotechnological domain. The possibility of precise genome editing offers the promise of a cure, where conventional therapeutics has achieved limited success. This review discusses the potential applications of the CRISPR/Cas system in the management of diseases such as cancer, HIV, and nCOVID-19, all of which have high mortality rates worldwide. The review not only intends to add to the existing knowledge of CRISPR/Cas applications but also to identify the domains which require further research and attention for CRISPR/Cas to become an unparalleled genetic editing technology.
